Other reaction was less enthusiastic. I hunted through the paper for the continuation of the story and found it under a three-column photo of the skull taken the night of its unveiling in Santa Fe. She lived most of the last fifty years of her life in northwestern New Mexico, where this previously unknown painting was discovered earlier this year.
